Coleman Hicks first worked directly with the owner of the land and their Planning Consultant to help obtain planning permission for the houses.

Once permission was established the site was purchased by another long term developer Client of our practice; and we swiftly worked closely with them to produce the final design information ready for construction.

The project, being in such close proximity to the village green needed a good relationship to be established with the neighbouring community and the Parish Council during construction.  The developer was also keen to produce a high build quality with better control and oversight to the process.  Ultimately, with our help, the developer decided to explore a more ‘hands on’ approach to this and future projects, and therefore, instead of simply appointing a ‘Main Contractor’, as they had always done in the past, decided to directly manage the process themselves.

With our ongoing assistance through the build programme they have produced some great, high quality homes for this village location and successfully finished them on time and on budget in late 2023.

The results have been impressive and a testament to the diligence of their management and site teams.

We hope to assist them in replicating this continued success on their next endeavour back in Oxford, and look forward to working with them in 2024 and beyond.
