ABOUT US
CHP Architects - established in 1979 - maintains a varied and interesting workload from one-off houses and extensions, industrial and retail units, schools, offices, and masterplan proposals. We are a RIBA Chartered Practice, based North of Oxford, and serve Clients throughout Thames Valley into Central London, and throughout the neighbouring counties, as well as further afield.
We have a variety of UK and European backgrounds and are currently 9 technical and 2 admin staff. We invest in training for our staff, supporting apprenticeship and RIBA qualifications within the office – we also offer work experience to local schools and are involved in various organizations assisting with community projects.
HOW WE WORK
Our size means that our service is personal, with a Director/s involved in each project from the initial meeting through to completion. We have dedicated Architects and Technicians who work with the Directors, to produce tailored Planning Submissions, Building Control, and Working/Production information for the design and construction of all building types.
We use several computer programs to provide 2D and 3D Drawings, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Specifications, reports, etc. But we can also draw by hand and find many issues that are best resolved by a hand-drawn sketch on site.
All aspects of the Practices work are organised through our office Quality Management System. Increasingly there are specialist requirements to be discharged as part of the approvals process. CHP will advise on the team requirements and liaise with the other professionals, advisors, and client team members to discharge the Project obligations. We can act as Lead Designer to satisfy the CDM regulations.
Our aim is to build a relationship with our Clients and be retained for numerous projects, as this is efficient and therefore profitable on many levels. We prefer to provide buildings that have a sense of place and enhance the locality – providing simple legible drawings that Planners, Clients, and Contractors can follow.
