Highworth Co-op and Library

A comprehensive redevelopment of a large site in Highworth to provide a 10,000 sqft supermarket with Staff, Admin and warehouse facilities and a new 6000 sqft Public Library.

A comprehensive redevelopment of a large site in Highworth, a market Town just to the North of Swindon, to provide a 10,000 squft supermarket with Staff, Admin and warehouse facilities, for The Oxford, Swindon and Midcounties Gloucester Co-operative Society. The scheme also includes a new 6000 squft Public Library, purpose designed at first floor level above the Foodstore, separately accessed by lift and stairs, off a landscaped court, with pedestrian links to the Town Centre. The development, situated in a conservation area, included car parking for 80 cars, service access and a full scheme of hard and soft landscaping within ‘Burgage’ walls rebuilt using salvaged stone. This is one of many supermarket and neighbourhood Foodstore schemes undertaken for this client in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.
