Bletchingdon School

In 2012 CHP won a small design competition set by Bletchingdon Foundation to design a contemporary School building set amongst traditional housing – the two styles complement each other well.

In 2012 CHP won a small design competition set by Bletchingdon Foundation to design the new school facility. The project brought together funding from the sale of the Village Hall and school site with Grant funding from Oxfordshire County Council. The Duchy of Cornwall’s Office managed the project and brought remaining funding for the project via the development of 40 private houses and 18 affordable homes. The school is a half form entry primary school attached to the village hall where they shared facilities for the benefit of both organisations. As you can imagine it was a complex exercise to accommodate the need of four funding bodies and the various community groups – we feel it’s a very successful scheme. The school is a contemporary building set amongst the traditional housing – the two styles complement each other well.
